| Community Workshops
While we primarily work with
ex-offenders and those who have experienced criminal justice, we
have an invested interest in preventing crime and working with
children and young people to increase their awareness of crime
related issues and promote alternatives to crime.
These workshops are available to
the community and we run them at various times throughout the
year. The workshops are both interactive and informative in
order to make the learning content accessible to all. The
content of each workshop is adapted to meet the needs of
different age groups.
The topics of the workshops cover
the following:
● Crime Awareness
● Crime Prevention
● Fear Of Crime
● Gun & Knife Crime
● Race And Ethnicity Regarding Crime
● Hate Crime
● E safety
● Domestic Violence
● Conflict Resolution
We continually review and evaluate
our materials and delivery methods to unsure that all the
information is relevant and up-to-date. We tailor each of our
programmes to meet the individual needs of the school, location
or organisation we are delivering for.
These workshops are made available
to local schools, faith organisations and community centres. To
find out more about these workshops, please

Please check the PLIAS Resettlement News &
Events page to find out when and where workshops are due to
take place.

Seminars &
Conferences
Since our formation, we have
delivered an annual seminar around issues pertaining to our
work.
In October 2005 as part of Black History Month, we hosted a
conference in partnership with Barnardos and Black Boys Can
titled “Whose Child is it anyway?” which aimed to raise
issues around fatherhood.
In November 2006 we held a community seminar in partnership with
the Brent Community Safety Partnership titled “Victims, Faith
and Crime Reduction” which aimed to identify how faith
based organisations can contribute to reducing the fear of
crime, supporting victims of crime and supporting offenders.
The report for this seminar has been published and is available for download.
