Employment Skills
PLIAS Resettlement recognises the importance of employment as a
significant factor when reducing the risks of re-offending. Helping
individuals to overcome the barriers that they face to
employment is one of our main objectives in order to ensure that
each client achieves increased economic stability and
independence.
Our employment
skills programme consists of a variety of skills
and techniques designed to increase personal employability
including; * CV Writing and updating * Interview techniques *
Personal presentation * Time Management. Each of these elements
are designed to increase self confidence and self esteem and are
further complimented by our bespoke personal development and
life coaching support and motivational training.
In addition to
the above elements, we also provide specific training for
people who have a criminal records on areas such as the
Disclosures Act, Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and ‘Spent’ Convictions.
Included in our Employment Preparation programme are sessions
dedicated to job search skills. This facility has been designed
to provide individuals with the skills to carry out successful
Job searches and identify suitable and appropriate jobs. We
provide regular access to employment bulletins, employment
opportunities and the internet in order to search and make
inquiries about employment opportunities.
