other (Mentee). Being a mentor is a valuable source of help to
others who desire to make progress in their lives, studies or
work. Mentoring provides assistance, guidance and support to another person (a mentee) in their every day tasks. A
mentor also helps to induct, orientate and develop the teaching
and learning skills of the mentee by, a few examples of these
are:

and reflecting on teaching and learning skills.
● Listening, clarifying, reflecting back and discussing.
● Having a duty of care towards the mentee and helping them to
deal with any emotional responses triggered by the training
process.
● Encouraging, building self esteem and confidence of the
mentee.
