David Stewart Bursary

The David Stewart Bursary was set up to provide a financial contribution to enable young people to access career-focused extra-curricular activities.

David Stewart was a fun loving, high achieving, and athletic 19-year-old with his whole life ahead of him.

On the 30th March 2001 David’s life suddenly came to end. He died of a congenital heart disease which caused him to die of natural causes.

This bursary has been set up in loving memory of David Stewart to support young people in the local community in areas where David excelled most.

The David Stewart Bursary was set up to provide a financial contribution to enable young people to access career-focused extra-curricular activities.

The Bursary aims to:

  • Improve the educational attainment of those involved and provide support and access where it would have otherwise been unobtainable.
  • Improve the employment prospects of the young beneficiaries of the bursary.
  • Encourage and promote a giving and community spirit in young people.
It also aims to provide a financial contribution to enable young people to give their time and skills freely to support a worthy church or community initiative which will increase aspirations.

The David Stewart Bursary is managed by PLIAS Resettlement.
