Building Futures

A qualification for those seeking employment within construction, security, manufacturing, hospitality, parking enforcement and administration.

Each year in the UK, approximately 50 people are killed, and more than 5,000 injured in workplace transport accidents (www.hse.gov.uk/statistics).

Most of these accidents can be avoided by taking the simple precautions which form the basis of this course. A Traffic Marshal/Banksman is the person responsible for the safe direction of vehicular traffic in/around building sites. This qualification is ideal for those seeking employment within construction, security, manufacturing, hospitality, parking enforcement and administration.

In July 2019, PLIAS Resettlement was awarded an EQUIP grant from the Paddington Development Trust (ESF & ESFA Funding) to deliver a Building Futures project aimed at upskilling and supporting unemployed ex-offenders back into employment.

The project compliments the Construction Health & Safety Training that PLIAS Resettlement already delivers by providing Traffic Marshalling training and thereby increasing the chances of clients moving into further training and employment.

This project will provide wrap around Information, Advice and Guidance including, where required CV writing, accredited training and links to further training and employment opportunities.
